I love the Pixi line and recently its skincare selections have expanded which include Pixi Nourishing Cleansing Balm (3oz/$20) which I happily snatched up at Target. I love a good balm cleanser and a nourishing oil cleanser--this one is "balm to oil." Sign me up! It contains skin loving ingredients like sweet almond oil, cocoa butter and shea butter which all provide nourishment and antioxidants to the skin. This would be a good choice for a "second cleanse" to allow all that goodness to seep in. It's described as follows:
"This gentle cleansing balm comforts as it deep cleans and nourishes, melting away makeup for silky soft skin and a glowing complexion. Packed with nutrient rich oils and butters to moisturize. For all skin types."
It's a light yellow color and has a mild, rosy type scent to it. It is housed in a plastic jar with a screw top. The balm has a thick consistency and I used about a dime size amount all over my face. So, did this balm increase my love for Pixi?
Verdict: I like this cleanser, however, it didn't feel like it transitioned all that smoothly from a balm to oil. I expected it to melt into my skin but it remained pretty much the same consistency throughout and did not emulsify upon contact with water. I also felt like I needed to use a bit more elbow grease to make sure it thoroughly came off my face. I may switch this to my first cleanse as it can be used as a makeup remover (even on the eye area) and I can ensure it will all come off with my second cleanse. Overall, it did leave my skin soft and smooth. I like all the quality ingredients going on here and I cannot resist Pixi packaging. For info/purchase, head to Target.
