So I'm pretty sure I aged about 5 years from a recent trip abroad and I'm trying to reverse the damage I did to my busted, haggard face and hit up The Body Shop Aloe Eye Defence (0.5oz/$19) to give my eyes some much overdue love. I have used eye creams off and on for years with mixed results. Some have been wonderful and soothing, others have made me breakout, cry and curse the beauty gods for redness and rashes they caused. This particular cream caught my eye because it's for sensitive skin and is a "soothing, moisturizing cream-gel with prebiotics to reinforce skin's natural shield."
I really like the packaging as it comes in a travel friendly pump bottle. The formula is white, watery and fastly absorbing. I did not detect any scent and it felt slightly cool to the touch.
So, did Aloe Eye Defence defend my eyes like a loyal soldier all in the name of beauty?
Verdict: I really loved this lotion! It felt light as air, soothing as water and was supremely gentle around my eyes. I experienced zero in the way of stinging, redness or breakouts with its use. It's not a super rich or heavy formulation, therefore, if you are looking for an ultra hydrating eye cream, you may want to keep it movin'. It moisturized my eye area just enough and did not leave any residue behind. This met my needs perfectly and maybe I turned back the clock with its use (doubtful).
